9 year old girl with learning disabilities

Over the years I have wanted to write to you to let you know just how much of an impact that your work had on my daughter. Cynthia came to you when she was in 3rd or 4th grade, 1992. You helped her with reading and speech on many different levels. She worked very hard and struggled in school, but never gave up. Cynthia graduated high school with honors and went onto college majoring in education. She graduated Magna cum laude. Cynthia started on her masters that summer and completed it in 18 months while completing her first year of teaching. She graduated summa cum laude with a Masters in Early Childhood Education. While obtaining her Masters she also obtained a reading specialists certification. She said the other day, I know how hard it was for me in school and I remember Ms. Shook helping me so much, I want to be able to give that kind of support to my students.

The intervention and support that you provided Cynthia way back in the 3rd grade has carried her through many times. I just wanted to let you know that she has never forgotten you and truly understand how the work you did together impacted her life.

Good luck in all you endeavor.
